Challenges
Easy Canada was a B2B and B2C marketplace platform designed to connect local businesses with immigrants.
The main challenge was developing a new platform from concept, and find the product-market fit for both b2b and b2c, getting early user adoption from a consumer perspectives and establish new business partnership who would like to advertise on the platform to generate income.
Another challenge was to navigate various needs from cofounders and stakeholder as the cofounders and engineer teams were from China and were not familiar with the Canadian market and technical requirements.
Results
End-to-end product launch, facilitated cross-functional teams collaboration, resulting launched a fully functional platform in 5 months
Generated 300 new leads first month, and scaled to a community of 2000+ in the first year.
Built pitch deck and business plan, leading acceptance into York university Y Space incubator and won the 2nd place at BMO startup contest, leading to new 28 new business partners.
What I did
Product Vision, Roadmap,
Define product vision, company mission and vision, setting up product strategy to make sure the actual product aligns with business goals.Define branding and working with branding designers to create the logo, brand colours, typography, landing page and web application prototype in 5 months to conduct user testing and attract early business partners.
Agile Delivery & stakeholder communications
Created roadmap, translated business requirements into technical requirements, prioritized features, defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria,
I worked closely with stakeholders to align on a simplified design structure instead of a complex one, I facilitated discussions to evaluate the strengths and trade-offs of different.
